About Us:
The Richard Allen Cultural Center and Museum (RACC&M) opened its doors on July 19, 1992. We are located across the street from the historic Bethel AME Church which was part of the Underground Railroad. The center offers a glimpse into the history of African-American, both local and nationwide. it was created to ensure that the rich heritage of African-American society would not be lost.
The RACC&M is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. Our mission is to contribute to cultural awareness and provide education support services to K-12 students in the Greater Leavenworth Area. We research African American history and promote cultural activities to encourage intercultural awareness of our shared history as Americans.
